Halcyon Waterspring Inc. is a Canadian owned company which manufactures water mattresses, hybrid waterbeds, air beds, heating systems, foam beds, and waterbed care products under the Strata, Halcyon, Waterspring, Poseidon and Lunarest brand names.
Halcyon was established in 1971. In 1996 the company purchased the Waterspring Bed Company, a major Canadian softside waterbed manufacturer. This amalgamated company went on to purchase the assets of the U.S.-based Strata Flotation Company. Strata is an acknowledged leader in the design and production of exceptional water mattresses. They own many patents and have won numerous design awards.
The staff consists of 250 employees in the Toronto plant and head office, as well as satellite locations across Canada and the U.S. The overseas operation is centered in Amsterdam, with representation across Western Europe.
In thirty years of worldwide activity, Halcyon has acquired the experience needed to handle export clients' needs. Markets other than Western Europe are served by the Canadian head office.
Water mattresses are constructed of the highest quality virgin vinyl. Hydraulic and/or fibre baffling systems produce mattresses with semi-waveless or waveless support. Mattresses are warranted for five years against seam defects. Sizes can be customized to suit the needs of any market.
Softsided waterbeds are produced in a wide range of features and prices.
The company is also a major manufacturer of air sleep systems. They are particularly proud of their
newest design, the whisper-quiet 'Renaissance' air inflator. Air cores are constructed of premium vulcanized rubber.
Waterbed heating systems are available with solid state, mechanical or digital readout controllers. Heaters used in veterinarian applications are also in the product line. Electrical approvals have been granted by CE as well as all Scandinavian, German, Dutch and U.S. and Canadian electrical agencies.
